Is God's Word practical for us today?

It seems that everywhere you turn today, someone is speaking of how bad our world is.  Whether it is war, famine, hatred, crime, or a multitude of other things, it does seem that we are in a state of decline in our society.  Perhaps that is why so many people have a negative outlook on life.  People struggle daily, looking for that one thing that will give them the edge in a world that is driven by popularity, appearance, and money.  If you doubt that, take the time to turn on the television late at night and see how many programs and infomercials are aimed at selling something in attempts to help people make money, lose weight, or increase their standing in society.  If you are one of those people who have searched in vain for the "easy break" or maybe just an answer to all the chaos, look no further!  Within the words and sentences of this humble page rests and very plain and real fact:  God is in control.  God's Word tells us plainly in 2 Timothy 3:16 that "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."  The very Bible that we hold in our hands today is the very Bible down through the years that has comforted, inspired, and instructed mankind how to live.  Many people like to say the Bible is outdated.  The truth is, the Word of God is more up to date than tomorrow's newspaper!  If we are a true student of Christ and of His Word, then none of what is going on in our world today should surprise us,  because we would know that 2 Timothy 3:1 states "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come..." There is nothing that is going on in our world today that has taken God by surprise!   So what does the Bible have for us today?  Friend, God's Word has everything we need!  Within Its pages rests all the instructions you will need to live in our world today, no matter how bad things seem to get.  To be a successful Christian is to put all your cares on Christ and to walk by faith.  How is our faith increased?  God tells us in Romans 10:17 that "...faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."  To attempt to have faith without reading God's Word is useless.  It is through His Word that He gives us what we need.  What about you?  Are you a Christian that has been guilty of starving the inner man by not studying God's Word?  Why not begin now by getting a "new look at the Ol' Book" that is able to lift you up and guide your steps.  Or, are you someone who has never made the decision to trust Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?  If not, please take a minute and visit our about us page to see how God has made a way to know Him and His Son.  Is God's Word practical for us today?  YES!  The question is, are you willing to accept and follow it?  Email us for more information.  If you are in the Gothenburg area, please consider being our guest in one of our services soon!
